Abstract

“Sapiensverse” is an explorative journey into the universality of being human. In ancient Indian philosophy, the human body has been compared with the universe. “What is not there in your body, is not there in the universe.”

The universe is a complex web of stars, planets, milky ways, black holes, particles, space and so on, where matter is transforming into energy and energy is transforming into matter, continuously and seamlessly. Where nothing ends when everything ends.

Similarly, the human body is an intricate system of cells, tissues, blood vessels, organs, bones, emotions, intelligence, mind etc. Where the nucleus in the cells is very much like the sun in our solar system. If you can zoom in on any area of this human universe, you will see space and particles, and will feel that seamless energy that is constantly changing into matter and vice versa. When we die, the elements go back to the elements, and the energy is released into the universe. And a new cycle begins.

That’s how “Sapiensverse” was born within me. It is a collection of my abstract minimalist mixed media paintings, where I have zoomed in on parts of my own human figure drawings, and recreated them adding more layers and elements coming straight from my artist’s soul.
